So, I have experienced asthma for years but ever since I took a new job and they moved me to a new office, my asthma has been TERRIBLE. I also get horrible post nasal drip every time I go to work. The post nasal drip is better when I get home into clean air.
Can't I get them to clean my carpet? I am worried that it's also the heavy duty floor cleaners they use that smell to high heavens. I think I have some rights but I am not sure how to approach it. Due to some unrelated surgeries of my own and my hubby as well, I don't have hardly any sick leave.
I'm really miserable. They had to order a nebulizer for me b/c the steroid pack they gave me was like taking water and it seemed that I actually got worse taking it. I think I got a little cold on top of it. I had trouble like this about 9 months ago at this same job but when they moved me to yet another office. I think the place has overall poor air quality, some roaches and dust mites. I also have allergies.
I am so sick of this. I don't want to go to work b/c I am sooooo miserable there! And no, I am not stressed except for the fact that I get sick there. It's otherwise a great job. I think there are laws about indoor air quality and accommodations but I don't know how to get started. I asked my boss if they could clean my carpets and got no response yet. I would honestly look for another job but those aren't easy to find. Can I go out on disability for this???
Any help would be appreciated.
