Sinus pressure

I live in wi and the weather keeps changing drastically messing up my sinuses. Dr gave me 2 zpak but the snot is completely clear. The problem I am having is the pressure in the cheeks, congestion and tired, humming in ears. There is no colored mucus or any mucus. It has to be allergies but nothing is working. I tried nasonex for 3 weeks, switched to nasacort. I am on Alavert d, saline wash, nedimed, humidifier, drink tons of water. It seems when the pressure drastically changes is when it happens. Any suggestions on what allergy medicine I should Try?

Hi, msm.

Have you been to an allergist for testing? I'm not a fan of just trying antihistamines. Sometimes they help, sometimes they don't. If they dry out your sinuses you can get clogged up.

I get allergy shots weekly. I have no allergy symptoms anymore. A couple of years ago I had to add grass when there was a big blooming season and I started to get symptoms when I was out on the tractor mowing my fields. New allergies can crop up anytime - I'm well into my 60s.

Saline wash helps a lot to clear pollen from the sinuses. I like the larger NeilMed bottle. It makes a difference getting the right amount of salt and baking soda. Walgreen's carries its own brand fairly cheap, or you can make your own.

When you're drinking water, make sure you get enough salt, especially in summer or when you're exercising. Sweet "healthy" drinks don't have enough salt anymore.
