Can anyone help me with this condition?

Hi Folks, I wonder if you can help my husband with the following....


Good evening,

I have been suffering recently from allergy like symptoms, which include itchy nose membranes, leading to sporadic bouts of sneezing, sore and itchy eyes, and irritated sore gums....basically all my soft tissue membranes and my eyes have been irritated. I seem to get the worst symptoms at night, and during the day, everything is completely back to normal, which is weird!

Also I don't suffer from the symptoms every day, they are intermittent...a couple of times per week maybe. when the symptoms do come on, it is immediate!...my nose starts running with clear and thin mucus, and catarrh streams down the back of my throat, sometimes literally making me choke!

Occasionally the symptoms will immediately appear if I come into contact with strong perfume or after-shave, or other perfumed liquids, such as domestic cleaning solutions etc.

Does anyone else suffer from a similar condition, and has any subscriber to this site got any ideas on what it might, be and how to treat it?


I regularly exercise, and swim most days, use weights, and 'jog' occasionally on the mountain where I live. With regard to diet, I rarely eat red meat, and only really eat chicken, fish and mainly organic vegetables and fruit. I take vitamin supplements every day which include one generic multi-vitamin tablet, 2 x grape seed extract tablets, and 2 x fish oil tablets.

Make a copy of what you wrote and have your husband take it in with him to the doctor, he really needs to see an allergy doctor for further help.
Sounds in part like an enviromental allergy (perfumes) I'm also allergic to perfumes...
Many well wishes and make that appointment for an allergy doctor!
