Clegg bite persistence- please help!

So about four years ago I was out horse riding (not something that I do often) I was wearing thin trousers and when I came back the top of my left thigh was swollen. It soon developed into a very sensitive red patch. It was very hard and when I touched it it would turn white. My friend said it looked like a Clegg bite and that clefts hang around horses.
It is no longer red at all, there is nothing left to see except that I still have a lump on my left thigh that is not present on my right. I don't know what to do to make it go away.

Please help any suggestions would be much loved.

Sorry, after 4 years I have no idea what you might do or if this could have been a horsefly bite or a wasp sting or just a thorn. I'd see a real doctor about this. We're not doctors here and can only tell you what our experiences are as patients.

When I get a bug bite I clean it and might use an antibiotic and a bandaid if there is an open wound. Antihistamine or ice is good for swelling, but after 4 years it's a bit late.
