Safety measure for capsaicin allergy

Hi! Anyone here who has asthma problems after eating foods with red chili peppers in it? I know I’m not the only one with capsaicin allergy, yet there is not much information on how certain foods can cause inflammation in lungs. 1/10 of a teaspoon of chili pepper sent me into an anaphylactic asthma attack that nearly killed me. What I do now is to avoid eating any chili peppers, but if is not declared as ingredient in food items, that’s when I got the problem. What do you do as safety measure?

Grace has it! I have the same problem with sulfites. I've been in the ER too many times.

Is there any medicine you can carry, maybe Benadryl or even an Epi-pen, that will rescue you? I have to carry a heart med, Inderal, for my reaction. I needed it yesterday after eating some Kirkland brand cashews.

There are some websites where you can look up allergen content by chain restaurant. Maybe check the archives. I don't know the sites offhand.
