I take over the counter nasal steroid during the spring in summer months. I have really bad seasonal allergies which is compounded by GERD. I take two puffs of the nasal steroid in each nostril every morning. However there are days where my allergies really bother me and I may take one or two more doses. It is instant relief because it allows my sinuses to drain, but I wonder about
the long term side effects, and if it might be harmful? I recently read that steroid usage could lead to diabetes, but it seems more targeted toward inhaled steroids for Asthma.
