I had hives all over my entire body so I went to the dermatologist because this has never happened before. She prescribed me Prednisone 4pills/3 days, 3/3days, 2/3 days, 1/3 days @ 10mg per pill. She also gave me Hydroxyzine 25mg to use every single night for 30 days and told me to take TWO 24 hour allegra everyday.
I am here seeking advice from people who have experienced a bad reaction like mine or who have tried these drugs. I am extremely scared to go on Prednisone because of all of the side effects (weight gain, moon face, mood swings, etc). My hives are almost gone already on their own but my doctor claims that they will come back if I don't take all of these intense medications for a month. Do you think this is necessary or extreme? I would hate to trade one small problem for ten different problems.
