How do you live with life-threatening allergies?

Hi I have had allergic reactions since the age of 6months old. I have had 3 anaphylaxis reactions where I coded and wound up in ICU, one I did not have my epi pen and the other two I didnt give myself a shot quick enough. I am now 47. How do I live with the thought of knowing that one day the epi is not going to work, or I wont have my pen? Well, as many severe episodes that I have had I cannot let them consume me. I try to stay safe, make sure my epi-pen stays in date, take my antihistamine, and try not to put myself ina position where I am in danger, but most of all I wear a bracelet, and all my friends know my condidtion and know what to do if I have a reaction. One of my doctors told me that one day I wouldnt come out of it, therefore I have to live my life the best I can and to the fullest.

i know exactly how you are feeling love....i too have life threatening allergic reactions only mine are to medications. i know how it feels to be terrified every day of your life, wondering if you will have a problem today or not. i try very hard to give it all to God. i try to look toward Him and not the storm. i have to wear a mask at work so that i am not exposed to an illness and have to take a mediction. dealing with this on a daily basis is VERY difficult to say the least, but if you try not to look at the BIG picture and just take it a moment at a time, it does make it much easier. i hope this has helped.
