Hi Noitcudes! Red_34 posted your link over on the UC forum because of all the people over there that have been on prednisone. I thought I would chime in on my experiences with it, maybe it will help. I took prednisone for about
a year and three months when I was first dx'd with UC. I started out with 40mgs for quite some time (I think about
three months) then tapered to 20mgs for a few more months, and so on. I think the highest oral dose I have heard of is 60mgs, there may be others with different experiences. I have a friend that had a kidney transplant and takes prednisone every day and will for the rest of his life. It an cause some nasty side effects but I'm sure your doctor will preform the appropriate tests while you are taking it, you may want to talk to him/her about
any concerns you have.
