Hello all. I hope someone help me with this problem. Around the beginning of August, I started developing this rash on my frontal upper body region around my stomach. Even though I knew I shouldn't, I kept scratching it(uncontrollably). It soon started spreading to my chest and then my breasts started discharging some sort of fluid that was yellowish in color. The discharge wasn't very bad at first. I decided to apply some liquid bandage to it, but that seemed to aggravate it and it soon started discharging frequently, though not to the point where there was dripping. During this time, the rash started spreading to my arms and armpits. I tried benadryl, gold bond, and aveeno, but they only relieved the itching for a short period. One small patch of it soon appeared on the foreskin of my penis(I am uncircumcised), but it did not itch very often and seems to be going away now. I finally decided to go see the doctor. He thought it might be a bacterial infection, so he gave me a shot and prescribed antibiotics for me. That didn't work and by this time, all the scratching on my torso has made my skin elevated, bumpy, and dry. I went back to the dr and he took a blood test and some skin scrapings from the rash. They didn't find anything from either test. He then thought I may be having an allergic reaction to something fungal, so he prescribed some anti-fungal pills for me. That was yesterday. I decided to buy some Vaseline to soothe my skin too. Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be causing this? I've been itching for about
a month and a half.
Here is a list of things that happened around the time I developed my rash
- I had 3 new roommates move in
- Cleaning crews were cleaning up the vacant rooms for the new roommates to move into
- I started using Arm and Hammer laundry detergent
- I started using a generic fabric softener for the dryer
- I finally decided to use a paper towel to pick up a roach that I had killed with Raid in the corner of my room.
I thought it might be because of the new laundry detergent or softener, but why would I only get the rash on my front if it were my clothes?
Thanks in advance.
