What is sinus pressue?

I often read of problems such as sinus pressure, but what does it feel like?

Is it painful, or is it like sort of stuffy feeling or perhaps a fullness feeling in the cheeks? Basically, I want to know whether sinus pressure is painful or discomforting, if you had to pick between the two, that is. I am trying to figure out if what I feel in my cheeks, is sinus pressure or not.

There are different degrees of sinus pressure. I have had some sinus pressure where it feels like the sides of my nose (the sinus cavity) is stuff with cotton but no pain and other times, the sinus pressure is darn right painful on the sides of my nose to the tops of my eyes. Sort of like stuffed with cotton thats wrapped in barb wire. Usually when I felt that, I had a sinus infection so thankfully, I don't get them anymore. But I used to get them constantly before I had my tonsils taken out.
