Padraig......My Wife....My Story ..Part 2

Dear Lyn,
Don't feel you have to get back to me....just wanted to let you know how badly I feel that you and Cait were so ill! It seems that as a mother, when we are sick and even extremely sick, our hearts ache most for our kids who are feeling the same. It is so hard to see our "babies" sick;-)

It sounds like you two had THE FLU that I have been catching news of on various news programs. Seems to be a virulent strain of some super flu bug. I envy you not!!

And your other news: HOLY COW CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ON QUITTING SMOKING!!!!!! I never fully appreciated the extreme addiction of tobacco and would silently scoff at my friends who seemed to complain incessantly about how hard it was to quit, that their entire body hurt, the cravings were intense etc. Oh so thankfully I never said anything stupid and instead showed them all the support they needed, but still in the back of my head wondering why they just didn't stop? What was the stinking big deal? Then I had a roommate when I had to move away from my family when my kids were young to attend graduate school and she was a 3 pack a day smoker, quitting the day she moved into the graduate housing because it was not allowed inside. Watching this very determined, strong willed, independent, intellectual, beautiful and committed woman go through the withdrawl was almost heart breaking. I could tell it was an intense experience and my entire way of thinking changed as I watched her 8 week journey during our summer school, knowing that I was so very glad I had never smoked because I didn't think I would have what it took to quit! Furthermore, the next summer she returned as I did for our last summer of graduate school and requested me as a roommate. Curious to see if she had been able to keep it up, I couldn't wait to see her. Since the day she pulled into the parking lot of our housing the year before and smoked what she promised was her last cigarette ever, she had made it, never even slipping and I was amazed not only at her tenacity but also that 31 years of smoking no longer showed on her face. She was more beautiful than ever. The only downfall was that then she was in much better physical shape and was now able to outrun me on our evening jogs!!

Good for you Lyn, I know it has to be hard and I will be pulling for you in this as well as the other struggles with your Dad and family.

Dear friends,
Lyn, I am very relieved to hear both you and Cait are recovering. At this time I am caring for my friend/neighbor who has many health difficulties and now this flu on top of it all. I've had her rushed to the hospital three times now. Today seems a bit better, but it really teeters back and forth from horribly ill to just shy of horribly ill! Keep up the great work with quitting smoking, it's wonderful and I am really happy for you........not for the ick that goes with quitting, but for how great it is going to be for you!

Each thing I read from you just gives me such intense feelings! I am amazed you are dealing with all of this as well as it appears you are. And I am so happy to hear of this new progress, and especially being able to see Eric again. Best to you always.

Are you around? Haven't heard from you in awhile, understandably. Just with my experience losing Mom and Dad so close together, I was very shocked at the amount of legal work involved. It seemed it would never quit. And I also still have periods of such intense sorrow for not having them here with me, but knowing they are so much happier, and together, and free from their pain. Take care and we will hear from you when you can. Just know you are being thought of always.

Dear Lyn, Padraig, Linda and all who fight the good fight,
Just a short recap of this past week: Saw my husband 5 times last week, didn't run into the ex-wife or children: they visit seldom, says my husband who then asked me to get their POA revoked.
Their POA is invalid, says my new, bright, young woman lawyer who specializes in these kind of cases, and all financial institutions have been put on notice. Also getting a restraint order on his adult children. More later. Thanks for your support and prayers. Prayers work!.

Kudos for you Mary you fought a good fight and you have won .......As a Lady you are

My dad was taken off of the life machines Thursdday ..
I spent lots of time with him shaving him and doing lil things afterwards
prior too I read him a letter I had wanted to read for a long time to him telling him of the love he has shown me and the life he had given me
I am proud to have had a father like him for sure
Cait has and is taking it hard but knows as I do Dad /Pop would not have wanted those darn machines living for him he told us that so I fought for him and I did what I felt was the right thing......they finally all relented.......Prolly with dollar signs in eyes.........

The Memorial was yesterday......I had many of the big bands instrumentals playing as dad was big on them......Moonlight Serenade was one of his favorites.......

Already family is feuding over things they want in the house and their share when the house sells it literally makes me sick
I want nothing to do with any of them...
WHAT goes around comes around...........

What does MATTER now is that dad is with mom and they are both at PEACE and no longer in any pain.......
Watching down over Cait and I.......

Dad was an exceptional Father to me .......and to other siblings but he and I had a special understanding and a bond that could never be broken..........

Yes a CD was done of him and all pics of days gone by even one of him as a child and then down thru his life with grandkids ect........and fav music playing in background
It is beautiful
Have one of Mom as well we used at her memorial
Keepsakes they are for sure and I just have to put it in and I can see dad laughing or carrying on ya know........
