Thank you all.
My doc decided to refer me for CBT rather than prescribe meds. I'm ok with this because on the whole I'm not crippled with anxiety...I can leave the house, I can talk to people, I can do most things without too much hesitation. It's just certain situations such as being in crowds and large groups of people which I really struggle with. I hope to learn how to deal with such situations and be a stronger person.
When I was at university I could barely walk to the kitchen without panicking about bumping into someone and I used to struggle with walking into the centre of my local town. I'm quite proud that I've managed to overcome this now and even find myself being a lot more chatty with people. It's the bits inbetween me being stable like that which are truly awful and I don't want to experience them anymore!
