hello everyone. i was googling for info on depression during ovulation and came across this forum, so i thought i would join in. believe me - i know your pain.
i've given up on regular doctors a long time ago. most of my experiences with doctors has been they either treating me like a hypochondriac or simply saying there is no solution except for the birth control pill, which isn't an option for me. i don't use pharmaceuticals or birth control pills and never will. as for testing for hormone levels, i can't understand why some doctors (according to the posts) said there was no point in testing. this simply isn't true. though it may be a matter best left to an endocrinologist rather than a gp.
i've been trying to approach this problem by considering the effects of food, environment (toxicity and stress), and general lifestyle on my overall health. one thing that i've been reading about
is the effect of petrochemicals and xenoestrogens (mimicking estrogen) that are apart of our polluted environment and most household/beauty products that wreak havoc on the hormonal balance of not just women but of men too. here is a few links that gives you an example if you are interested.

basically, it's hard to not have a hormone imbalance in today's world. most women, it is supposed, are suffering from estrogen dominance. average testosterone levels in men are dropping. it requires a lot of effort, research and planning to avoid these estrogen mimicking substances in shampoos, beauty products and in our food, such as the effect of herbicides and the estrogen used to fatten livestock.
just one way we can take the matter into our own hands.
peace
Hello,
I edited out your 2nd link as it was connected directly to a online site that sold their product.
