I see so many new members here lately thought it would be nice to add your name here if you want and a lil something about yourself..........

My name is Lyn and I live in Ontario Canada,Have one teen daughter at home a son age 33 will be 34 in October and 2 GK .......

I Have A/P, Crohns, Pyoderma Gangrenosum and a few other med issues but I live each day to the fullest

I still know how to love and laugh have a good time thru it all

tongue This community has been a real friend to me and many on here I cherish and are family and always will be there is something about being able to bare your soul and not be judged ....that is a real support for all that ails you IMHO

Please check out Resources and know the rules and guidelines of HW...Look back on back pages of older threads there may be something there to help you out or that you really relate too

Know you are not alone and we are all in the same fight against this DD

HW has given me so much over the yrs and I hope it does you as well...

I myself am a sufferer of panic disorder, depression, and TMJ. I take two medications which are listed below.

Hi Everyone............I am Sue and have suffered from anxiety and panic disorder since I was 13. Am well into my fifties, and when I went thru an early menopause at age 38, my anxiety hit an all time high. Only then did I start receiving treatment. I was dx with Fibromyalgia 4 mos ago after 2 1/2 years of unexplained pains.
So I deal with both now and somedays are just unbearable. But I do get thru them. I have two wonderful sons and a husband. My oldest son is an EMT/Fireman and will be graduating from nursing school this May and wants to be a trauma nurse. He is getting married in Aug of this year. My youngest (they are only a year apart..24 &25) is a minister and lives on his own.
Its great to meet all of you and I do find comfort in meeting people who I can share my concerns with. Have a calm peaceful day eveyone

Hi all! Now that I feel a little better, I will tell about me. I am a newby and my name is Deb and I am from the Midwest U.S. I am almost 25 and was diagnosed with anxiety and depression about 10 years ago. I live with my mom, who is the greatest support in my life. I love her so much! I know how hard it is for her to see me in my panic states, but she is so tough and is always there for me. I just graduated 2 weeks ago as a medical laboratory technician. I have been working in a veterinary lab for 5 years as an assistant and a courier, and now I will be a lab tech at the same facility. I was to start official training last Monday but have been struggling with my A/P since, so have not been to work since. Hopefully I can get back in the next couple of days. I'm glad I had accumulated 150 hours of paid time off! I am currently taking 75mg of zoloft daily and just today began clonazepam (.25mg in morn and .5mg before bed.) I am hoping that I will soon reach that balance that we all wish to achieve. Thank you to all for such a warm welcome and I know I have posted it before, but I found a great place and hope to become part of the HW family. And also, thanks for all the advice, the ensure works great!

Hello all...meet another one of the A/P moderators.  My name is Wendy and after having to take a break from everything for the last couple of months, I am back.  A few months ago, I volunteered to help moderate as I really wanted to give something back to this wonderfuly supportive family.  This great family has helped me tremendously and I love it here.  There's never any judgement, just advice and support - which is exactly the way it should be.   I have been married to the love of my life for almost 11 years (been together for 13 years).  Between us we have three children - 2 boys ages 15 and 22 and 1 girl age 13 (but thinks she's 25 ).  I was first diagnosed with depression during my teens (in my 40's now), anxiety and panic came along in my 20's and now it's brought along agoraphobia.  I'm trying to beat the agoraphobia, but haven't had much success with that in the last few weeks, mostly due to the severe depression.  But I know that if I take things a step at a time and keep working at it, I'll beat it.  I had a nervous breakdown this past July and was admitted to the hospital.  I have been in the hospital twice since then.  I also have several medical issues going on as you can see in my signature.  My husband is very supportive and helps me however he can; I couldn't ask for a better man to be at my side.   I'm so happy to see new people here and will be taking the time to "meet" each one.  This is a great place to be and you can't ask for a more helpful, supportive and wonderful family than the HW family.   Wen

Not new to anxiety/panic/agoraphobia, unfortunately, but new to this forum. I've been struggling with some level of agoraphobia on and off since my mid-20s, when I was homebound for several years. I'm 56 now, and going through another bout. Lost the ability to drive on the freeway about 6 months ago. Had trouble even riding the bus for a while, but now I'm good with that. Fun!

I've also recently been diagnosed with "possible" lupus. (?!) The lupus blood tests are positive one day, neg the next. The more I read about it, the more my experiences seem consistent with the description of lupus. On the other hand, lupus is one of those diseases where everything from a hangnail to a headache can be part of it -- or not. (And yes, I do visit the lupus forum here.)

To reveal all: I'm a novelist. I'm planning novel #4, which will be a suite of related stories about agoraphobics. Agoraphobic parties, agoraphobic world travelers, agoraphobic unions (banding together with other agoraphobics who can do THIS but not THAT to make tasks such as grocery shopping possible), fake agoraphobics who commit crimes "stealth," agoraphobic LDRs with partners three blocks away, agoraphobic exhibitionist extroverts...

I'm also a practicing Zen Buddhist. Half hour or more of daily practice for 5+ years now. This practice is not goal-oriented by intent, but has had the pleasant side effect of making the anxiety easier to cope with. It has also radically changed my outlook on everything from bad drivers with cellphones to the pesky young robbers who (attempt to) break into my home about every three months.

As you might have guessed, I use a combination of compassion and humor to get by.

I am finally out of that hole BBUT I ahve never been so afraid in all my life...........

 

It had me thinking I would never climb out it realy did and to post and try to help others in that condition would not have been right for me to to do at all

I had told Lil sis ( Kitt) that I was constantly sitting in my chair in a fetal position the doc wanted me in hospital but anyone that knows me KNOWS that isnt about to happen lol

  I have to say I fell well about 99% better and here I am hoping that all of you are doing well

I HAVE kept each of you's in my heart and thouhts even in my darkest hours .........

 

SO happy that we have so many new ppl here and I am looking forward to getting to know each of you ..........

Hi, I am from Pennsylvania and have a diagnosis of Panic Disorder, OCD and Bipolar Disorder. I have a store on ebay which accomodates those times when I have difficulty functioning outside of the house and also a job with an independency agency which monitors/advocates consumers of Mental Health and D&A services.

I've had panic for nearly 20 years. Had a few years where I was symptom free.

Nice to meet you all and looking forward to hearing your experiences.

Hi Leah, I'm so glad you shared with us. Quite a few members have a couple of dx and it's nice to see you with such a strong attitude towards recovery.

I try not to worry about my med intake, I take xanax 1mg as needed..and when it's need I take it!!!! I've been on almost every anti-dep and anti-anxiety med known to man and even a few anti-psychotics (no clue what that reasoning was) and very few worked. I believe we have to tweak the dose and have loooong talks with our doc's to find the right med for us. I hope you find some peace, and a med with low side effects (I find they go away after three weeks - but that's just me). I am sure you are a great mum..you are not alone in these fears..stay with us now okay.
