I Was admitted to the hospital Friday night

I finally called my Dr on Friday morning after waking up in the middle of the night with chest pains 3 days in a row. They finally called me back at 3pm to tell me to go to the ER. I had all the tests done to check my heart (nitro pill, morphine, EKG, asprin, etc) and its not my heart. They kept me overnight for observation b/c they gave me too much morphie and my nornally low HR dropped to 40. The "official" diagnosis is GERD. I was given protonix (sp) and it made me sleepy and sick. They also didnt give me my nightly dose of clonazapam until 5AM Sat morning, so I've been messed up all day today. With all this going on, I've decided to stop weaning off the clonazepam and try again after the holidays and after they get the GERD under control...ugh another set back. I'm also having fibro burning pain, so I'm really stressed out. I had a nice panic attack in the ER on Friday after laying on a gurnee in the middle of the ER hall for 4 hours (all the beds with rooms were full).

Screwing up my med schedule was the worse part of the whole experience. I felt ok Saturday after taking it a 5am and then again at my normal time before bed, but it all hit me this afternoon. I also took my lexapro late on saturday so today was like withdrawal central for me! I took my clonazepam about an hour ago and feel pretty good. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle the GERD meds, so I'm loading up on TUMS and Malox until my lower bowel xray series on Tuesday.

Let me address the meds first.  If you were already given morphine and your BP was low, I would guess that they would not give you the clonazepam right away. 

I know it is no fun to bein the ER as they are getting busier and busier with the people losing their medical insurance.  ER's can't turn you away for any reason, however they can close to admits for up to 2 hours I believe is the rule and go on divert. Many people that use the ER have no money and they are using the ER for their primary medical care.

I am not saying you did that.   Welcome to the GERD World my friend. We have a good GERD Forum and in fact I believe I may have seen you in there. I am very glad it is not your heart.

Wow. . . I hope you are feeling better. It is not very nice to have the clonzepam schedule messed up. . . When my doc was weaning me off of mine, that is when my anxiety got worse, and now I'm going into my third month of recovery:) Good luck to you:)
