Tapered off clonazepam and wondering how long it will be in my sytem

Tha 1/2 life of Clonazepam is 18-50 hours.

Half-life: time taken for blood concentration to fall to half its peak value after a single dose.  This time may vary considerably between individuals.

I will let you do the math.  Congratulations on weaning off successfully.  You must be very proud of yourself.

Hurray, Karen! Congrats on getting through the weaning off of a drug. It's not easy, is it?

You can always call a pharmacist in your area to ask questions regarding meds. They have most of the answers. Kitt helped a great deal, too!

Congrats Karen! I am weaning off of my Clonzepam as well and it has made me feel so much more confident in how I'm handling things right now :) Good luck to you!

I take ativan which is a shorter acting drug than Clonazepam and the DR always said drinks in moderation are just fine. 1 or 2 on the weekends is good. The main reason why alcohol is not advised while using lorazpem or any other benzo is that the drug compounds the effects of the alcohol. SO if you are worried about having a drink a week after you are off the meds I would say that is no problem. BUT I am not a DR either- so your own judgement and circumstances may change my recommendation.

Congrats on getting off of Klonopin or Clonazpem. That is quite a win for sure! Benzos are hard to get off of and I regret getting them a few years back.

Did you do anything special with your taper? What kinds of withdrawal symptoms did you notice? I am trying to switch to Vallium or Clonazpem because the half lives are longer than ativan so it will make it easier to taper if on a different drug. AWESOME you are off of that mess!!!!!!!!

thanks elsalvadorCA , the med did work quite well for me and it was just the kick I needed to get better. I am not as bad off now and feel I don't need it as much.       Terps19 , I am on a higher dose of Effexor (225) I was on lower when I started the Benzo and the Benzo was helpful until we got the Effexor dose right. I am feeling much better. I had some really stressful things happen all at once that threw my anxiety in over drive. Now that I have learned to cope the Effexor is managing the symptoms well. I am not anxiety free but I am better than before and can function well. thanks everyone! this has helped me so much!! Karen

How long did you take Paroxitine and Klonopin?

I have been tapering off paxil for some time and it has been HELL.

Got down to about 6.5mgs and added .25 klonopin 1x a day.

I am now going to be adding Lexapro and tapering up on that was tapering off Paxil.

How was your taper off Klonopin?

once I am fully on Lex and off PAXHELL, I will get off the Klonopin.
