Hi Selina,
RE the edit, I took out your link as it is no longer in service. If you would like to change your signature in your profile please do.
Now to answer your question, yes I do believe that worrying about
the surgery can trigger your panic attacks. It is normal to be concerned about
any surgery but to those of us with anxiety we can easily start with the anticipatory anxiety.
Anticipatory anxiety is where a person experiences increased levels of anxiety by thinking about
an event or situation in the future. The worries you experience specifically focus on what you think might happen, often with catastrophic predictions about
the event. I am sure it was very traumatic to have the implant rupture. Try to stay in the moment and don't start worrying about
the surgery. You will get it taken care of and all will be well.
It's really important for myself to be able to stay in the moment. I have found that by avoiding things like dwelling on past or worrying about
the future I am usually able to get done what needs to get done when it needs to get done.
If you can learn to stay present in the moment then you can rapidly and gracefully change your life for the better!
“Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. Let us begin.”
I am right here for you and I will support you in anyway I can.
Gentle Hugs
