Search turned up no help, insight needed!

I have been on Healing Well for my Ulcerative Colitis and noticed the Anxiety forum...I like :)

  First off I will say having this forum has been help to much success, from help mentally and emotionally in my life I am truely thankful.

    I have been having a weird sensation for the past few years, where I have a "dream state" or where fictional characters from what I believe are dreams interrupt my thought process, and my thoughts in general. I am not sure what triggers it, but I get these throughout the day and it scares me as where it will take away my thought process sometimes and or overpower my mind temporarely. Some of the same dreams or thoughts will last for days on end, repeating themselves whenever I have these sensations.

    I searched with no luck, and to be noted I do have generalized anxiety as I was diagnosed with it 3 months ago. I brought this up with my doctor and she had no clue as to what this could be. I started on Lexapro and had 2 seizures as a side affect one month after being on it, so currently I have been on Lexapro for the past 5 weeks. Any help of what this could be or anyone who has had to chime in would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!!

Hey Kitt, much thank you for the reply! I was wondering if that is what I had, but it seems that what I was describing wasn't on the list of common signs of depersoninalization. Now I just need to find ways of how to concur and get over it, as the effexor does not show signs of helping it. If anyone has had this and has methods of how to overcome it, any help would be so appreciated

*Crosses fingers* haha. I did some searching and ran into Panic-Anxiety.com, and was curious if anyone has tryed the "Linden Method" good or bad, wanted to see if anyone had an oppinion on it. Thanks!

Hey Ben,

I wanted to thank you for the reply as it puts a positive feeling towards this(ironic eh) to know that there are other people experiencing some of the same issues. I am looking into getting a referral this week for a pdoc currently from my primary family doctor, and start going down that direction. Once again, thanks for your reply Ben and wanted to wish you speedy resolution to your symptoms and overcoming this crap that interrupts our lives.

I've actually tried the Linden Method. I could see where it could help some people, but I don't think it was for me. The basic concept is simple, distract yourself and don't ever think about your anxiety again. Stop going to doctors, stop taking meds and stop researching your condition or symptoms online. Sounds great, but very difficult to implement. the course provides some better guidence though and they do have people availble for you to talk to when you need them. The Linden Method isn't a rip-off, but a lot of the information they provide is a little too simplistic to justify the price. Then again, sometimes it's those simple answers that work best. Good luck and remember, you have a great support group right here.

Okay, I think the Linden Method sounds stupid and I don't even see how it could help. If it's worked for others, God bless them. I wouldn't wish these anxiety disorders on anyone. But that method doesn't make sense to me at all. I do think anything is worth a try but remember to wean yourselves off of your meds before going completely off of them.

Tyler, I wanted to say "hi" and welcome! I have spent time in a foggy feeling and experienced depersonalization. But I haven't had to go through thoughts being interrupted by strange characters. Do you hear voices that aren't there?

It all sounds scarey but you will find the answer. Try to pursue what Kitt suggested. Maybe that's the answer. Take care, Tyler and let us know how you're doing! Carol

Well.....I was going to post a reply Wednesday morning when.......I was on the phone with my mother about to meet up with her for lunch, and as she described to the parimedics and firefighters I went silent on the phone and became not responsive to her on the phone. The firemen got into the house via the kitchen window and I was found sitting on the couch watching ESPN in a shirt and briefs....Oops. Lexapro just did this to me a few months ago and Effexor was said to not have the same side effects, well not true. I brought up my dream state of minds to the neurologist today when going over all my tests and everything looks perfectly normal. Thank you Lord :). I just want to thank everyone again for your time to reply, as it gives me a positive feeling to know that I am not the only one out here like this, and having these feelings. It truely does scare you when you first have them as many do not understand the feeling or how they leave you unless you have them.
