most distressing anxiety symptom for me

Just wanted to say thank you again for your continued advice and support. It means so much to me. I am so grateful to have found this site, and to see there are other people out there like me.

As I have discussed before, I have been waking up with terrible morning anxiety/nausea. This started on Monday. The last two weeks had been great for me, i was feeling like myself and had my appetite back.

The zoloft has worked wonders for my mood, I am feeling hopeful and have joined a CBT/support group which starts Tuesday. I am so excited for it! Anyways, i am nervous about my loss of appetite, which I feel makes me more anxious. I don't get it -in my head I feel calm, but my body is telling me something different.

I am afraid of not getting my appetite back - and then having to be hospitalized, which would be embarassing. I am not suicidal not depressed though - i have so much hope - so what is the deal?

I am making sure I eat three meals a day, which is difficult for the last 5 days. Does anyone have any advice on how to get my appetite back? i am so scared.

I can't say for certain of course, but both my mom and brother were on Zoloft and lost their appetites...and nausea.  It could be the drug, but best to check with your doc.  If it doesn't go away maybe there is an alternative you can try.

Personally I would suggest instead of 3 square meals a day. Push it to 5 small meals.

Something like.
Breakfast
1 cup cereal 1/4 cup milk
half fruit of a fruit. (apple orange banana)

Snack
Fruit bar
1/4 cup nuts
yogurt
apple

Lunch
Small salad
1/2 a sandwich
A slice of pizza

Snack
(same as above)

Dinner
A veggie
some high protein (chicken,pork etc)
a small potato, 1 slice of toast or pasta

But make your meals very small. So it doesn't feel like your eatting a truck. But instead spreading 3 balanced meals throu out the day. If you notice a weight loss and it is bother some. Add in some eggs, full fat milk, etc to your diet and that should help curve it.
On some meds you can and will lose weight do to a side effect. My brother lost 15lbs on Zoloft. But gained it back after about 6 months.

Eating properly is very important for a healthy life style along with exercise. It is even more important for those of us who have anxiety/depression. So now that you are having issues eating your normal amounts. Is the perfect time to introduce a health eating pattern. Take advantage of it while you can!

3 meals 2 snacks is the ideal diet.
