Hi everyone! My name is Jen and I just saw the post asking for people to introduce themselves, so here it goes.
I have lived with anxiety off and on since I was 16 (in panic attack form), but I did have lower level anxiety throughout childhood. You name it, I've experienced it including agoraphobia, social phobia, etc. I've been through many medications and therapy.
In 2008 I was vritually anxiety free, but at the beginning of 09 was given a stomach medication that caused me to fall into severe depression. For months I had no idea why I was depressed and began experiencing severe panic due to the symptoms and the simple fear of not knowing what was going on. After being placed on the medication again as well as a tranquillizer that I am in a minor withdrawal from, I am currently working on getting my life back slowly but surely.
It's been a long road for me with many bumps, but I am fortunate in the fact that my bofriend and I have been together for over 9 years, I have a beautiful daughter, 5 cats and a dog. They as well as helping others who are stuggling with anxiety are the things that motivate me to keep going. My motto is "Flow with anxiety, don't fight it or run from it, and if you can; laugh at it".
The best of wishes to everyone here!
~Jen
