A study. What do you think of this?

I have been asked to participate in a study where I try a new type of medication (totally approved and safe) and over 24 weeks I will meet with the supervising pychiatrist every other week to discuss how I am feeling.  This is an OCD study.

Has anyone ever tried anything like this?  Do you think it's good or bad?

I like the idea of having access to a FREE pychiatrist for 12 sessions but I often have a rough time with medications.

The waiting list to see a Pdoc here is over a year and even then you only get one measly hour with them and that's that!!  So, I think I will take advantage of this one, even if I get only a few sessions out of it I guess it wont hurt me.

They said that there are 3 different meds and you try one of the three, I guess whichever is best suited to you.  I will let everyone know what happens once it starts (sept) and keep you all updated.  Maybe there is a great new med out there for us!

Have you ever heard of anxiety/anti depression meds making anxiety worse?? I had this problem with 2 different types now.  I hate the feeling of not being in control, it's scary and hightens my anxiety.  Wellbutrin XL 300mg made me feel like I needed to rush to the emergency room and be sedated.
