Anyone taking Effexor and Zoloft together?

I've taken Effexor forever (since 1991) at the lowest dose - 37.5. I've tried to increase the dose but it makes me too anxious. Lately my anxiety has been horrible because of medical issues.

Saw a psychiatrist and he recommended starting to add a low dose of Zoloft - start with 25 and then go to 50. He also wanted me to try Ativan instead of Xanax for really bad spells. Does anyone else take Effexor and Zoloft together? It seems strange, but maybe it's safe at low doses. Just wanted to check. Thanks!

My Pdoc suggested Wellbutrin and Effexor and Lamictil for me yesterday.........I said no as I do not do well on the SSRIs or the SNRIs. I do use Valium at low does and was on 4 mg of Ativan per day back a few years ago in divided doses. I became pretty used to it as Maz has and switched to Valium to wean down.

Now I take Valium 2 mg - 6mg per day with an option to use an extra 2 mg should I need it.

That seems like a pretty hardcore combination. I don't know if my stomache could take it.
