Hey all! I have a lot of anxiety when deciding to go on the pill or not due to the serious side effects of the pill. I would like to and tried to a year ago but it just scared the heck out of me. I dont know how to stop this anxiety and push away unwanted fears. Any suggestions about oral contraceptive and people with anxiety would be helpful.

I took BC pills for about ten years. I find the BC pills help to alleive alot of the anxiety that the monthly PMS triggers. Give it a try, it could make things much better in that time of the month.

I otally have to agree with Nnners yrs ago when i was on the pill my anxiety didnt seem to get so outta control....
i know my daughter is on them and it makes a big difference with her PMS
i agree give it a try....

I took Yaz/Yasmin and got the depo shot. The shot triggered my depression problems, and Yaz/Yasmin caused me to have anxiety attacks... being prone to depression or anxiety, I stay away from contraceptives with any possibility of those side-effects

I would like to know the exact same thing! i have never taken anything, beacuse i dont know what to take as a result i now have a child :s who i love but do not want anymore in future. Can i ask what is this BC pill? im very scared of taking anything hormonal, the only thing that isnt in my research is an IUD copper seven i think its called, but it has to be inserted in by a doctor which is scary, and may increase bleeding.. but no hormonal side effects, but u may get cancer in rare cases. Just google it up, i have been curious as to what others take and are comfortable with in living with anxiety.

There is a pill that is called Cerazette that does not have the side affects other pills have.
This pill has no estrogen in it.

But if you take the regular pill, the risk of side affects are very little.

Do you smoke ?
