Lexapro anxiety stuff

 Hi Everyone,

I recently have experience severe anxiety, panic attacks and insomnia after taking the birth control pill   I was prescribed Lorazapem to sleep and am taking 1.5 mgs.   Am also taking between 12-25 mgs of Seroquel.

Am also taking Propanalol 25 mgs for high blood pressure.

Recently started a low dose of Lexapro to help with anxiety and to wean me off of the Lorazapem.   The starting dose for this is 2.5 mgs.

Just wondering if Lexapro is better for anxiety than Celexa?  I've had 3 docs tell me their is no difference and that Lexpro is a cleaner drug to take with less side effects.  One doc told me that Lexapro can make anxiety worse during the first week or two but then should level off.

Does Lexapro insomnia stuff stop the longer you take it.   yesterday was first dose and was up  almost all night.   Was told this would improve.  Very nervous about being on the benzo and really want to wean myself off.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am feeling better. Still having the anxiety . It comes and goes. Some days almost constant and others not very much. Ithink alot of mine is the anxiety about being on the lorazapem as I know it's addictive but docs don't want me to stop it until the Lexapro kicks in. Never been on a Benzo before. Also being tested for hormone imbalance as this started after taking the birth control pill. Thanks for your support!

I tried lexapro once and it had less side effects than celexa for me, but I never stuck with any of them long because they all had more side effects than I could deal with. Suppsoedly elxapro does have less side effects for most people.

Like they said, medicine works differently for everyone.  I took both and I happened to like Celexa more.  Celexa made me really, really lethargic, though - where I mentally could not get myself to get up off the couch.  My doctor switched me to Lexapro and it made my heart race and race.  When the klonopin wouldn't keep it from racing, they took me off if it.  It really helped my depression, though.

I have a friend, though, that takes Lexapro and she LOVES it.  Had some anxiety the first couple weeks, but she absolutely loves it for her.
