........GOALS.....
i believe we should set out goals ..a to do list for each day
it does help me to at least give it my best shot n
if i can get them done i feel great
if i cant do them all
i know i hv tried.....

..making self get bk out into the world getting out of this horrid isolation
...even if its to take a walk uptown n look around at least i am around other ppo\
..adapting to being deaf n accepting i need to learn sign
thats in the works now
..finding new ways everyday to help beat this a/p monster like it does us

if you hv your own ways of coping n would like to share plz do
it mmight just be something that helps others

OK I will go next:


1. I will avoid people who stress me out.



2. I will be more assertive. I won't take a backseat in my own life instead I will deal with problems head on, doing my best to anticipate and prevent them.



Those are the two I am going to keep working on right now.

I have been approved to go to highschools here in town n discuss the consequences of drinking n driving
Cait will be my ears n she is excited about this as am i
bit nervous too
but if i can stop just one kid from driving drunk n a mother losing that child

then i will deal with the nervousness
this is something ive wanted to doo for years ....

Great Topic.

My Goals are:-

1. Be more accepting of my situation and roll with the anxiety rather than getting depressed about it.
2. Use CBT to help me feel more comfortable in social situations.
3. Learn how to deal with my Asperger's
4. Work on confidence

Having goals is such an important part of dealing with your issues what every they are as it gives something to aim for and log once you have achieved your goal to show your progress.

great with your goals n i know you will get thru each one
cbt is really good n it does work for those that work it
kudos to you about cupboards i laughed when i read that
yesterday after i made self eat
i cleaned can food cupboards and stacked them all nice
kinda made me think of that scene in Julia Roberts movie lol

Today im cleaning out closets n getting rid of things ive held onto only for emotional reasons
its time
ty for posting n keep us up to date on how your doing
remember no need to push self too much
just do a lil something daily
i guarentee you will feel better

I hope the kids..young adults will see me as a person whose been there n lost to drinking n driving
i dont want to scare them
just give them tools n education on it all

Well yesterday was a real eye opener for Cait n how ppl deal with others that hv issues with hearing sight ect
we walked from one end of town to other had some bills to pay
apparently at the utility co the woman was quite miffed and snarky i just knew something was up due to caitss body language and lil tears coming up but not falling of anger n i think frustration

from there we went out n had lunch together..and she proceeded to write out what the woman was saying
well i lmbo at caits response to woman ..told her you go for 50 plus yrs hearng then not hear n see if you get a bit upset when trying to deal with rude ppl like you
that is my mom n you will not treat her that way
my lil hero......

We really had a great mom n daughter day i initiated it as i think she is worried i cant walk that far but we did it n had a great day all around
finally at about 11 she came n gv me a hugg said love you momma n im sorry i didnt really get it til today how ppl treat you n you wouldve popped that woman if she was talking to me like that
..told me she loved me n off to bed she went

i made it thru the heat walking all the stores not hearing but still able to converse
i had some great quality time with Cait
slept like a babe till just bit ago
it truly felt good getting out n getting home safely ...
losing my fear of being out n about..deaf

what about you out there ...anyone

To be able to give presentations and teach.

This is something I have tried many times and failed many times. I've been taking Lexapro for the last two years, and my stress is much more manageable. My goal is to be able to give presentations and teach to large groups. I just started Toastmasters again.

Lyn, That is great news that you got right back out there and went with Cait. You can be very happy and proud of both of you.

1. Keep working on going to my happy place and using it to keep me calm...

2. Try to avoid negative thinking... Gotta remind myself that I am a good person and that bad simply doesn't factor into the equation...

3. Continue to do deep breathing exercises.

4. Continue to keep my appointments with my therapist...

5. Relax.

6. Prepare for summer classes starting June 7th...

My ultimate goal is to be able to go to the zoo, movies, out to eat, etc...with my kids without worrying about my crohns or anxiety! My daughter is starting to want to visit colleges, I would like to get to where I can go with her and not have to send my mom. I am so lucky to have my mom to help me in situations like this, however I would like to take her:)

yesterday i really pushed self as my lil bro n sil wanted me to go to local fair ..
i was trying to come up with excuses but lil bro knows me well lol
we got there n i hv to admit it took me back years n i had a great time
went on some rides with liil nephew..
ya even the merry go round
played a few games and i ACTUALLY forgot for that time i was a person with a/p
i really had a great time
im so glad i did not let the what ifs get me n the fear of not hearing was hardly present
got me a couple stuffies lol n even got my face painted lmbo
a canadian flag on one cheek n on other
Support oour troops
nephew thought it was a hoot that aunty wynn ..as he calls me...got face painted with him
im really glad i went
