Hi - I'm completely new here, and to be honest.....very scared
I don't consider myself a hypochondriac but here's my situation (and any help is greatly appreciated!)
I'm a 27 year old healthy guy. This past Sunday I was working at my side job as a waiter. I started to feel a little "out of it", and light-headed.....I took the train back to NYC where I live, and as I pulled into Penn Station I thought I was having a heart attack. My heart was beating tremendously fast, I couldn't catch my breath at all. I went to the police station in Penn and let them know I needed an ambulance. I thought I was having a heart attack. It was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
The EMT's came, and took me to the hospital where they gave me oxygen and my heart beat slowly decreased. In the hospital they told me it could have been a panic attack (but I haven't been worried/anxious about anything in my life lately). They took a chest x-ray which came back fine. The next day, ironically I had a physical scheduled with my doctor (who is also a cardiologist). He took a cardiogram/EKG/stress tests....all of which came back fine (still waiting on the bloodwork). He even gave me a portable EKG thingy to wear for 24 hours to record my heartbeat.
Now it's Thurs. and the past 2 days, my breathing has been better, but at night when I go to sleep my chest feels heavy, and I have been getting headaches that feel like my head is in a vice coupled with a pulsating feeling on both temples. I am nervous that the headache could be something worse....like an aneurysm or a hemorrhage.
I don't smoke...I drink socially, and over this past weekend I was out pretty late, at a concert, and did smoke a little marijuana (I'm not a habitual user...it's in rare instances).
Please....can anybody help me with suggestions......why is my head feeling like that? Is it tension/stress or should I go back to the hospital? My chest....all tests are coming back fine...so what could that be?
