Can anxiety and Panic Attacks affect your vision?

My biggest trigger for my anxiety of which I just strarted Paxil two weeks ago for is my vision changes which has gotten progressively worse due to excessive worry over health anxiety (headaches exc). Will this get better when the ssri kicks in? I also thought it could be due to the Xanax of which I never take more than 1.5 MGS a day to get me by until the ssri works. Also losing close loved ones and finishing grad school with a horrible job market this year isn`t helping me. This forum has been a place where I can relate to people and I thank you guys so much you don`t even know how good it feels to know that others are out there and I am not going crazy.

Hi scaredy cat thank you so much for the reply I have been to the eye doctor and have new contacts and glasses I believe that due to the constant tension it has affected me so that its been hard to function at my normal level and this is not good when just completing grad school and being lucky even to get an interview nowadays. I was just wondering if the SSRI would help with this I am also going to counseling and reading a book called When Panic Attacks as well as exercise as much as I can since I am too anxious to go to the gym an eat better. Will I get better or do people get worse I`m trying my hardest to do everything I can? Thank you so much any input would be very much appreciated.

Dolfan, I don't take meds, so hopefully someone else will post later regarding that...I am glad to hear that you are also going to therapy though! It helped me literally get my life back. I had two courses of CBT, and as I tell everybody...be patient! It does take time to see the results, sometimes up to 10-12 weeks for improvement to start. It is work, and perserverance, but as with anything worth having, it is worth waiting for. In my opinion, it is also a great long-term recovery tool for anxiety and panic issues, including health anxiety.
You are also smart to read up-kowledge is power! I must have read every book on A/P that my library has. It was also a crucial part of my recovery. Keep up the exercise, and good nutrition as well. It will be a combination of these things that will help you. You need to find the right balance for you and your stress levels. For me, it was therapy, getting educated, breathing/relaxation exercises, healthy living, and time. Everyone is different, keep looking (with the help of your dr./and therapist) for what works for you. Things will get better soon:)

hi, im having sorta the same symptoms with the vison, by any chance dolfan do you smoke?

Hi everyone...I'm new the forum but am relating to much of what I'm reading today. May I ask, do any of you have problems with Vertigo or dizzyness/light headedness? I suffer from Anxiety and have my entire life and because I have no health insurance and am currently unable to afford  purchasing it, I am left untreated. Recently I've been experiencing blurred vision and terrible numbness across the top of my skull, sometimes there is pain and sometimes none at all. I also feel as though I'm going to fall over and will suddenly stop in my tracks! It is a terrifying feeling of constant unsteadyness.

I've recently discovered a program called Lifeline which allows for certain testing at a discounted rate and will be having Coranary, artery blockage testing done for the dizzyness, numbness, and headaches "just to be safe" as I'm 46 and do not want to take chances. Please, if anyone suffers with the likeness of any of this I would appreciate your feedback.

Curently I am taking no medication other than Synthroid for a low Thyroid function as I am unable to afford it.

Hello Friends, I am sure you must be safe and sound, Aamir Khan here, i am 29, i have been working n Oil & Gas Sector for the last five years. Last year when i was in field i had some panic attacks and anxiety disorders (palpitaions, unknown fear, excessive urintion, hot & cold fleshes, Musclar pain, excessive yawning, Slite BP raise, Burping, , i was rushed to the nearest hospital, where they conducted all essential tests which came fine, then i had decided to visit Gaestroentrologist, where he found that i was having anxiety, he prescribed ( Ufrim 10 mg ) and Fresium along with beta blocker (only for two months) for calming my palpitations during the panic attacks, i took the medicine continously for six months and now i am very much pleased that i dun have such symptoms, presently though i am very much fine, yet having herbal medications, which is good enough to eridicte remaining anxiety. My friends since i have gone through such pnic attacks and anxiety therefore all of you are requested to share your prolems and ask me even any time may be my experience of having such nightmare can help you out of the proble.
