So I was prescribed some Lexapro, my doc seems intent on treating my anxiety and he feels meds are far more effective than physcotherapy so he prescribed my lexapro and I was just wanting to know how that stuff affected ya guys and what ya's experience with it was?
Honestly I may not even take it I've been pretty fine lately but I know it's been like for a while like I'm fine for a good amount of time then I hit a slump and then it repeats so maybe some short term meds would help me be completely free from anxiety

I would kindly suggest you discuss with your Dr. other ways to treat your anxiety then with pills as long as you would prefer to try therapy.
Good luck,

For me Lexapro was the very first option. Therapy wasnt even suggested. Its done wonders for me but its something you might have to be extremely patient with. For the first 10 days or so I slept horribly and woke up shaking and weak in the middle of the night. It made me grind my teeth so my jaw ached. I remember feeling horrible while my body adjusted but slowly but surely I got back to myself. Its been 3 months and I would never want to go back to being without my medication. I was an awful nervous wreck.

agreed. lexapro literally saved my life. the first few days were rocky but slowly i bounced back... for a couple days i had increased anxiety, vomiting and real decrease in libido. now, i feel completely normal except of course that my anxiety goes as quickly as it comes. i feel it in my chest, then as soon as i notice it it's gone.

I'm leaving on the side for now, I seem to be getting my life back to normal in a great way thankfully but if I continue down this ugly anxiety road, I'll start it up and see how it goes, hopefully I don't have those bad temporary side effects though, I love sleep and I'd never want to be deprived of it:(
