Does anyone have syesthesia or am I crazy?

When I see numbers and letters they have colors. Like A has red, B has blue, C has white....

Also this happens with days of the week and months of the year. And music has color.

Is there anyone else like this? If so do others think your crazy too? rolleyes

Hello - none of the members here in HealingWell are crazy.  :-)

Synesthesia can involve any of the senses. The most common form, colored letters and numbers, occurs when someone always sees a certain color in response to a certain letter of the alphabet or number. For example, a synesthete (a person with synesthesia) might see the word "plane" as blue or the number "4" as dark brown.

From what I know there are lots of people with this same problem and some of them have been famous people.  You are not alone so please do talk with your Dr. re how to deal with this problem.

From what I've read highly creative people such as writers and artists are more likely to have this trait, leading me to believe that those who see and hear in color are super imaginative!

Experts think that this is something that develops during the brain formative learning years, and is certainly not indicative of any problem, quite the contrary I think:)

Enjoy your creative side, and if it does become bothersome, as Kitt said, consult your doctor.

Yes I agree with Kitt, you are not crazy. the only ppl that are crazy are the ones who doesn't relize it. You are perfectly fine.
