Check In - How are You doing ??

Today the sun is shining, still a little cold but Spring is trying her best! At this moment in time, I am A OK. Just got over a bit of anxious hyperactivity but the good thing is I did not go in the opposite direction (feeling low). That is a great sign. I have learned when my out of balance feelings hit to do whatever it takes to be well. Last week I knew I needed some extra time away from work and it worked out that I could be off Thursday & Friday. That was just what I needed, extra rest, no work stress, etc. It does not always work out like that but when it does, I seem to recover faster.

I tried some carrott juice this morning. Really it is nasty but it makes your body feel so refreshed. Why are most good things for you so bad tasting?

Checking In: I know we all have some pretty heavy difficulties and man... Ive had a seriously hard week but you know what I try to remember? When Im down about what is or could be happening... I have to be grateful for what DIDNT happen that couldve. No one I love died yesterday. Didnt have a car wreck. Sons werent dx with somethg bad. I didnt go blind, hungry & I had probably 5 friends/family say I love you. Didnt bleed out or have an earthquake here. I try to rate the bad stuff on a scale of 1-10. 10 being the end of the world. WHen u do that, the rest of it falls way down there & we can make it. HUGGZ

Hey guys its Jess I am doing great today...I think my new Rx is helping a lot.. had a little break through anxiety last night but that was because i was nervous about going on a ghost tour lol....but i am still finding myselft thinking there is something wrong with me or my heart and constantly asking my husband to retell me over and over what the ER doc told me...that I am perfectly healthy and my heart is healthy. I cant seem to grasp that. does neone else feel this way or is it just me?

I stopped seeing my therapist. I found that it was bringing up way too unpleasant memories for me and I am not ready for it yet. My mind is now in a happier place though. One day I will tackle my demons but as of now things are going smoothly.
And no snow here in MI Just a bit of rain and about 40ish temps. Some sun in between but I am ready for April showers!

It is great to hear so many positive statements. I have been in quarantine in a hospital surgical ward for the last week with a severe ulcerative colitis flare. The quarantine part is about some bacteria I was exposed to but haven't tested positive for. I get tested every day. People have to wear these yellow protective suits around me. The staff hate wearing them. I tease them about looking like mutated daffodils.
Doctors are being fairly patient about waiting to see if I can get better just on medicine or whether I need surgery to remove my colon. My colorectal surgeon keeps telling everyone to wait and thinks that I'll pull through without needing surgery. I love surgeons who don't want to do surgery!
Needless to say I have had a few panic attacks and xanax is practically my best friend. I have had people bring me pictures of relaxing images, like playing with my children or hugging my grandson. That helps a lot.
BluAngel your gratitude suggestion is the foundation to keeping my spirits up. We have so much to be grateful for no matter what happens around us or to us.

It is awesome to see so many checking in..............we like to know how everyone is doing so keep the posts coming.

On Saturday we took my mother-in-law out to lunch for her soon to be 85th birthday . We asked the restaurant crew do the "Birthday Sing" to her. She was laughing and beaming through the whole thing. She has been house bound pretty much since November.

I asked her how she like the lunch and all when I talked to her on the phone yesterday and she said, " I loved it. The only thing that could be better is if I could have another birthday again" Time goes by so quickly that we have to stop and smell those mutated daffodils.

I leave next Sunday, the 10th for a week long vacation to Reno with my daughter and grandaughters to participate in the Boston Terrier's National Dog Show. My grandaughter's both show dogs. I love to watch them.

For me I am going to cruise through the week, handle the not so good with all the good and keep remembering when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.
