Hey all! Just thought I would give an update. I finally started my therapy:) and my therapist is awesome. We figured out that the symptom of air hunger was my anxiety manifesting itself because my fear of dying. I have had four friends die since 2007 and I worked in a hospital and death was around all the time. I didn't think it would get to me but I guess it did after I quit. I'm not afraid of dying itself but the unknown is what scares me. We have just started some CBT and she also wanted me to cry as much as I could. The funny thing was when I left after our session I could not cry! And I tried for the whole week to cry but I just couldn't. I think that my fear of breathing may have been lessened because that's what was making me cry all day. I've only had 3 sessions with her but I have gotten breathing excercises and techniques to " retrain" my brain. Also I got my period this week, and I noticed more anxiety, is that common?

Yeah, so glad to hear that the therapy is going well, and that you are finding some of the roots and triggers of your anxiey...that is so helpful!

I am very happy for you, keep up the good work...you are doing great, and an inspiration to others:)

And yes, hormones can bring on increased anxiety, it will pass! (and then come back in approx 28 days LOL ;P)

Yes it is very common for your anxiety to be higher during that time of the month. I have just recently started my therapy to after 5 years of putting it off and found out I had been misDx all that time. I aswell have health anxiety as a result of PTSD. I hope you continue to get better.

Welcome to the forum.

I have not seen the original poster for a while but hopefully they will see it and give an update.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with anxiety but we are here to help support you so feel free to start up our own thread and I'm sure you will get lots of responses.
