Please i hope can someone reply to me soon!

i was fixing my front tooth. and the dentist just put something kinds like '' gum '' just to take the front size, so i felt like thers something, ( a Part ) of the gum did go inside my throat and got stuck! so i felt like ( i Can't ) breathe anymore, and i did go to the Emergency, and they did nothing. i just did go back home, and slept for some 3 hours, and waked up again, and i did go to the hospital again! and they also did nothing! 3 days ago, i got '' Just a little bit '' better, but i can't eat! i got a problem with eating, and when i eat i feel like there is something is moving in my throat. this accident happened 15 days ago, i did go to the ENT and he said, thers nothing stuck in your throat. but there is a weird noise in my throat, and sometimes my voice disappear for some 4 seconds* and i also made an XRAY for my throat and they did see nothing, but some of the doctors tell me you need to see a psychology doctor, hey may help you. and when i get nerv or something, i feel like thers something got stuckin EVEN MORE!* i Just can't eat anything! only some small things! when i eat like: a sandwich i feel like a parts of the sandwich didn't go through, still stuck,

So anyone got an answer! ? Please*

Hi Agent and welcome. What you are describing has a name and is a common symptom of anxiety. It is called Globus Hystericus, so called because it translates to 'ball', as in it feels like a 'ball stuck in the throat', and hystericus, as in 'caused by anxiety', not an actual physical problem.

I am glad to hear that you went to get it checked out by a medical professional, and now that you know it is not an actual problem with your body, you can start to work on your anxiety.

This was actually my first anxiety symptom...is this yours too, or have you experienced anxiety problems before?

You can seek help in the form of therapy, medication, or a combination of the two to help you overcome your fear and symptoms.

In the meantime, try drinking a lot of water, and using lozenges to keep your throat moist. Try some muscle relaxation for your neck area, including tilting your head back and letting your mouth hang open, and even some gentle massage of your throat.

You can also do a search here at Healing Well on 'trouble swallowing' or 'lump in the throat' and see that this is a common problem, with many posts on this subject. You are not alone.

i do Really appreciate your reply.

and no, i didn't experience any anxiety problems before, but since this accident happen, i'm not normal. and i get nurv too fast! like if someone talk to me in a bad way or something, i feel like i can't control myself anymore! i get nerves very fast.

and i'll be always drinking alot of water, thank you for the advice. btw on monday i'm going to see a new doctor here, hope everything go well, Cheers. =)

I hope that your new doctor can help you figure this all out. Try to be honest about your anxious thoughts and feelings.

Sometimes it can just take one disturbing experience, such as what happened at your dental appointment, to trigger anxiety. Then it tries to stick around, but getting help soon will help in your chances of beating it!

Hi agent, sorry to hear that you had some anxiety issues....I get glob us hysterics too sometimes..I get so worked up about something being stuck in my throat that I can totally feel it there..

Usually once I calm down a bit the feeling goes away....but it is horrible isn't it? And yes good luck with your drs appt, I hope he can help with this issue.....and as SC said we are family on here......so come back and talk to us soon ok....:))....best wishes to you shannon

Hey! its me, i posted a topic about my swallowing problem, 2 days ago :) btw i just came again to say whats the doctor told me...

Just came back from the doctor's appointment, and he said the same thing! you just need to relax, etc, you always think that there is sommething stuck, but everything is okay. You should start eating again normal, and he give me a medecine idk whats its called XD and he told me you should be take in it for 1 month*

Hi Agent. I am glad that you got some answers from your doctor, and since they confirmed what you had also heard previously, then you can be sure that you are dealing with anxiety.

Follow through with what your doctor recommended, and see how things go with that...hopefully it will take care of the problem!
