Hi BBGB, well if you are having that many symptoms at once, that include an intense fear that something very wrong/bad is about to happen, then you may very well be experiencing an attack.
I copied a list of the classic symptoms, which are included, but not limited to an anixety attack. Symptoms can vary from person to person, and I found lasted longer than the defined '10 min' window!
Symptoms of a panic attack, which often last about 10 minutes, include:
Difficulty breathing.
Pounding heart or chest pain.
Intense feeling of terror.
Sensation of choking or smothering.
Dizziness or feeling faint.
Trembling or shaking.
Sweating
Nausea or stomachache.
Tingling or numbness in the fingers and toes.
Chills or hot flashes.
A fear that you are losing control or are about to die.
When and if you are experiencing these problems, it is natural to want to go to the hospital, after all it can make you feel as if there is something very wrong! The best course of action however, is to see your doctor for a scheduled appointment and have a consultation regarding your anxiety.
He/She will of course make sure you are healthy through a physical check-up. They will then be able to discuss how to best treat your anxiety through therapy, medication or both.
I am sorry but I can't remember if you have sought treatment for this before...have you tried therapy? Meds? If not, then it sounds as if you may be able to benefit from some help:)
Let us know how you are doing soon, and hang in there...reaching out is the first step in recovery, and you are doing great.
