BB, try not to worry...ears are like phones, they ring sometimes! Seriously though that is normal. Most people would not even give it a second thought. People with anxiety though, focus on every bodily signal/twitch/change and think it's caused by something serious when it's most likely nothing!

Also about your BP. Most people get their's checked once, maybe twice a year at most (unless they have been diagnosed hyper-tensive) If your BP has not been diagnosed as high, then there really is no need to check it multiple times a day...this is probably a control issue having to do with your health anxiety. Unfortunately, you are really just feeding the fear by this practice. See if you can wean yourself down on the readings gradually. It will be hard, but it will lessen your anxiety in the long run:)

Keep working on the issues. Just talking about them will start to make a difference. But also try to add some coping mechanisms and get some of the self help books that are available at the library. The workbook type are excellent, and can really help you to start to feel better.

lol my ears rang all the time, still do from time to time. Thats actually pretty normal for the ear to wig out every once in a while. Mine would beeeeeep, or wah wah wah, or feel pressure or muffled sound. Thing is that if you've been to the dr., even though your liver enzymes were high, and they didnt seem overly concerned than chances are what ever is causing your health issues is not an imminent concern and nothing bad is likely to happen.

When we have panic/anxiety disorder we pick up on every weird sensation, then focus on it, in turn making it a more prominent sensation which then makes us freak out lol. We become hypersensative to all body sensations that most people feel but their brain doesnt focus on. We have to trick our brains to think about something else and the weird sensation/symptom often subsides, or at the very least weakens.

The brain is so powerful, even if there are medical issues, the power of the mind can make it worse however the good news is that our thoughts can make it better to! FYI high liver enzymes is common with Celiac, so get that checked and illiminated so your one step closer to your answer. Dont give up or get discouraged. Be vigilant about your health, insist that the dr. test for reasonable health issues that could be going on, but try to relax in the mean time. It is possible all really IS just stress and anxiety, but know for sure!

In the mean time, while waiting for answers you can certainly take on your brain and fight fear to live as free as possible. Even though my issue causing panic was Celiac, the benzodiazapine family of meds, and hydroxazine really did help with the anxiety AND talking to people. I hope you have someone you can call when an attack hits, night or day. That always helped me SO much!

Sigh...I hope it's just anxiety...I did something that I shouldn't have a few months ago and that was...umm should I say it...ok...The other main concern is that my ex came back to my life and we had intercourse a few times and the last time I didn't use protection...and we didn't know she was on her you know...and it gotten on me...yeah and her ex that she was with previous uses needles for substance abuse...well she don't do any of that except burn the green flowers I would call it...But Ive done blood work a few times already but never got check for any hepatitis...Should I post this in the hepatitis forum...and also would you think the blood work done woulda came out any different since they count the blood and stuff...I never told the docs this since she said she tested and she was negitive so I was just like ok...maybe I probably don't have it either...she was with him off and on for 5 years and that's the reason why she left him cause he used...but she's back with em now...

But anyways... I have been feeling like this before she came back in my life...but it wasn't as bad as everyday like this...feeling like I could have heart disease or something cause I feel like there is a infection in my chest all day everyday...but yeah I'm probably saying the same things over and over again...I should get to a clinic for that one too I guess...

I do call my sister and she is the only one who understands but she also has her problems so I dont want to stress her out...she has kids, she works, also a plus that she is an RN...I wish I had her health insurance so I can go to all the clinics and hospitals I want...dang it..I should of stayed in skool lol...besides her I really don't have anybody to talk or text to about...I tried other people but they have there own lives. So pretty much I'm alone in this...I'm also alone at the house too and it just sucks...my car is broke down and the part that I have to fix is just lying there...I have no help...I'm ok at mechanically working on it but Im just in this condition I'm afraid to do anything...it's hot here in CA too right now..well in the 90s now and I'm afraid I might get a stroke or heart attack..so I just lay myself here in bed pretty much all day like how I used to be like a couch potato w/o the tv much and junk food...probably TMI...but oh well...lol...

Hmm what else. Gotta go back and review this since my iPhone is soo tiny and hard to look on this screen...aghhh...lol

If you are worried about it, it would be worth checking it out so that you can be at ease. Can you afford to have the tests run? If so, it would be worth piece of mind.

Ok today i decided to do a little exercise and work on my car because I didn't want to just sit and be all depress with these anxiety problems..
Ok on the excercise i did some light weight curls which didnt hurt me at all but when i did like 2 sets of sit ups and rested i started to panic...weird cause i havnt panic like this doing things this mild...maybe cause of my heart rate went up...idk..I turned on my fan and ac window cooler and just rested it off...it took a while like 5 mins or longer...

Than like 2 hours later i decided to work on my car since its not that intense work since i dont have to excercise at all...so while I was 1 hour into my car I started to have breathing problems like I was breathing hard..having shortness of breath out of nowhere...well I was moving around since I was under the car alot...so I just put my stuff away and went inside the house to take a look at myself. My face looked pale with a little bit of red in it..I called my sister just to talk about it..she asked if I needed to go to the ER I wasnt sure...I don't want to call am ambulance..I'll feel embarrassed for them to pick me up...nobody here except me..but I got a cup of water and try to relax outside on the porch. It worked but I believe I have something else wrong with me...I never really get like this...

Why do they call everything anxiety...maybe cause they don't know what it is..so anxiety it is...

I used to get panic attacks during exercise. The changes in the body can trigger them...increased heart rate, the need to breathe more and/or becoming breathless, muscle fatigue, all can trick our mind into thinking something is wrong, when in fact it is all normal.

If however, you think that there may really be something wrong, you have increased symptoms when exercising, and also at rest, then by all means, get yourself checked out.

It is amazing what anxiety can do the body and mind...on the other hand, there are actual medical conditions that present with these same symptoms. I forgot when it was that you last had your health screen. If it was more than a year ago, then make another appointment just to be safe.

If it was recently, and the doctors told you that you are indeed suffering anxiety, and nothing else physical, then you need to start treating the anxiety.

Make a game plan. Whether it be therapy, self-help books, on-line or group therapy, you have better options than just second guessing all of your symptoms, I promise:) Get to work! You will feel so much better for it, I know from experience, or I wouldn't be talking:)

Sigh...I just want to give up...this pain hurts and bothers too much...aghhh...my last blood work and EKG was last week...

I had my ct scan with dye injection/stress test/chest x-ray done almost a year ago and that was when I wasn't feeling this bad everyday...I just had panics during those times like 5 times a month...further more after that I had a drinking/cigarette habit and boom...here I am today...

I wish they would use all those methods on me during this situation...cause I'm hurting more than before...

That hospital is a practice hospital I go to...I feel like going there right now...

I've been getting shortness of breath lately starting yesterday morning...a different shortness of breath...before was just a quick panic where i felt like I couldn't breathe suffocating...well this new one I'm experiencing I'm feeling when I push myself a little hard like into exercise or move around alot...or jus talking to someone I feel winded...like I have a harder time breathing and trying to get air like as if I ran a mile or so...this one lasts longer than the other and wont go away fast as the other one...but it does go away once laying down resting...I just hope I'm not in the same position as my sister in having to get a pacemaker...

If you are getting shortness of breath upon exertion, with improvement upon resting, then I would recommend you make an appointment and have another cardio evaluation. This is precautionary, but you really should make sure that all is well with your heart,

I do have an appt this thursday for a check up but it's just a walk in clinic which I feel it's helpless...well Today wasn't as bad as the other day except for that i woke up with pain in my left arm...i notice a lump under my armpit so i think my lymph node is swollen... At first i thought it was a blood clot or cancer since i forgot all about lymph nodes...you can actually feel them right like a round ball under your armpit....

Ok so I finally got to do some errands today. I got a text message that it was my final check that I'll be getting from work..:0( it's sucks not being able to work cause I be more at home and just probably depress...well I told my boss a week earlier to see if I can get disibility for a short while to see if I can find the solution with me and go back to work..I havnt been diagnose for anything...they just say it's probably anxiety...

but me and my boss talked it out...he doesn't want to get me unemployment cause it will come out of his pocket but he'll try to help me out with the disibilty. My company doesnt pay for anything...no benefits...no health coverage..no disability...but my check already cuts out for disability from the government...do you think I can get a short term disability...if any possible...he said he rather have me start with that than getting unemployment...I have been working there for almost a year...i live in California...what ya think...

Hi BB...let us know how your appointment goes today...feeling any better? Try and ask the attending at the clinic if there are any group therapy classes available in the area, or possibly some assistance program for low-cost therapy that he can recommend!

My appt was wack...feel like they or him are helpless...They just checked my Bp and vitals which I got my own Bp monitor...I talked to him about my probs and looks like the doc can't help me out with nothing. Not really trying to help at all. I was seeing if I can get a holter monitor and he said ur EKG is fine. Nothing wrong with u...wth is that...all he did was referred me to see a psychologist and he signed my edd disibility form so I can hopefully get some income to get my check ups..:

I believe this ain't anxiety what I'm experiencing....there is constant pain but it comes and goes..it happens worst at night and last night I went through it with the hard breathing and low heart rate...heart rate would drop to high 40s to low 50s to mid 50s...I only got about an hour sleep last nite...somehow I did panic but my heart rate was beating slow. Is that normal..:usually when I panic my heart is racing and it's in the 100s. about 120...yesterday I checked when I panicked it was 80 only...but slow beats...I was worried the whole night thinking i would pass out i felt like it too...and today ive been feeling ill all day as im typing thi s still feelin same...

Ok i was prescibed paxill about a week ago and never took it should i try it im just scared to try it because i taken buspar before and i flipped out a month later...i went into krazy pycho mode...aghh idk...

Hi BB how are you feeling today? I am sorry that your appointment didn't go as well as you would have like it...but I think some positive things did happen.

1-you got your paperwork signed

2-you got a referral for therapy-use it!

3-your doctor confirmed that your heart and vitals are good!

Your doctor would not have let you walk out of there if he thought that there was a potential for something to go wrong with you. At some point you just have to make the CHOICE to believe the medical assesment that you have been given. Believe me, you are not the first to have trouble believing that all of you symptoms are anxiety related...this is common!

I hope that you can try some breathing and relaxation exercises, stop taking your pulse and BP, get some exercise and some fun/distracting activities going, and free yourself from the cylce of constant worry:)

I know that it sounds trite and entirely too simple, but a little (or a lot!) of positive thinking will go a long way in your start to feeling better.

I hope that you can have a calm, feeling great weekend...you are going to be allright:)

p.s. I don't know what to tell you about the paxil...that is a personal choice. Did you discuss your bad SE's from the buspar w/ your dr.? I don't how how you would react to the Paxil, best to consult your prescribing dr. or a pharmacist.

Hey SC...

I've just gotten more symptoms which I believe it is all making sense now...I believe I may have clogged arteries...I finally found what was my same health problem relations too was and it went to that...there is nothing else...my symptoms these past days where always there even as I had an activity for hours it still was there...but again I never was diagnosed and most likely I diagnosed myself lol...sigh...I'm looking into finding to see if I can get a angiogram...if it cones negative than I can be more content...

My papers I will mail them off tomorrow..the doctor didn't take me seriously...just my family genetics explains it all...and they should look into that...and about the therapy I'm afraid I wouldn't make it that long to see that day. That is anxiety right there...

But here's my symptoms

Short of breath. Lasts all day. Ease at laying in bed...happens every other day
Headache/pressure like...dizzyness...fainting feeling...happens everyday
Eye vision is blurry...just recently few days ago...used to come n go in past
Chest discomfort/sharp pains that lasts a sec or two ...everyday
Numb/tingling in shoulder/left arm and left leg and chest...comes and goes and it's been a while but it has come back again a few days...
When eating i stop cause I get this weird feeling I can't intake anymore causing me to feel like something is coming on...don't know how to explain...but I do get nausea a little and i break out in sweating...happens alot just during this past month..even before couple times in past months but wasn't much as a problem now...
Minor pain below Ribs left side inside...comes and goes
Back pain on left side... comes and goes
I think I'm missing something...
But all this is discomforting...and I feel something going to happen if not treated correctly...my car is almost done fixing since Ive been working on it and getting help...I feel like Theres no point of fixing my car anymore since it bothers me to even drive...but there's nobody to take me where I need to go soni need it ASAP...

Oh yeah about the buspar. Yeah I told the doc and he said oh so try the paxil. It's different. It will help you prevent the anxiety..

Okay, if you feel that you need to investigate that then try to get a test...remember though, that your dr. would already have ordered the test if they thought that it was necessary. Your cholestoral levels probably would have made them suspicious, along with your symptoms. Was your cholesteral high? If not, then you probably don't have plaque build up in your arteries.

If this will help you to feel better though, then go for it. But consider making yourself a promise that after you get a clean bill of heath, you will let go of the idea that something is wrong physically, and focus on working on the anxiety:)

Right now I am at the hospital ER. I woke up with pain in my heart like stabbing needle like pains thats lasted longer than usual this last a few mins and got up I was very dazed walking to the bathroom. It was cold too...the weather...so looks like the nurse who came and seen me is not taking me seriously. She think it's anxiety....EKG was normal. I'm still waiting to see the doctor...blood work done too. Still waiting...

Thanks SC...

I've been here since 7am in the morning and it's now 2pm...what was done so far bloodwork at 7:30am. EKG. Xray on chest area..pee in the bottle cap thing...and again I just got another blood drawn for every six hours. They gave me 2 viccodin pills I feel drowsy but I still feel the sharp pain in my left chest...idk what's next..keep yah updated...

I had this unexplained feeling that started when i was 16.
I could be sitting down watching a movie,and all of a sudden I would feel my heart racing,i would feel tingling in my hands,sometimes my hands would be sweaty,and sometimes cold,then accompanied by shortness of breath and chestpain.I felt like i was having a heart attack.i too would go to the er tests were done and would find nothing.
It was so scary i went to the er every time this happened which was pretty often,to the point were they knew me by name and medical history without looking in the computer.
my pcp at the time thought i was crazy or something.He didn't diagnose me with panic attack.He put me on lexapro,that didn't work it wired me.I stayed up for 2 days and did some serious wallpapering and painting on my house.then i crashed and slept for 2 days.
Then he had me try Zoloft.That didn't work i thought i saw Jimmy Hendrix.
Then i finally said enough! i will just deal with this.For 2yrs I ran to the e.r thinking i was having a heart attack.
Then they tried a Holter Monitor for 3 days no symptoms for those 3 days go figure.
Then i saw a cardiologist and was told i was having panic attacks.
It made sense.We tried alprazolam and for me it worked.
I moved from va to Pa in 2004 My new pcp and i discussed the panic attacks,and medicine history.
I have been on alprazolam for 10yrs.
Most doctors donot like to keep patients on alprazolam for a long period of time because they say its addicting.
but i have been on a low dose of 0.5mg the only thing i don't like about it is it makes you tired.

it has been 10 months,i stopped taking it i learned when i have an attack,i go into a dark room,with the room extra cold and close my eyes.I had to learn patience.which was very hard.try it once,i know it sounds easier said then done,try it buy a cd that has ocean waves,put an ice cube on the back of your neck and relax.it works for me,it maynot work for everyone,but what do you got to lose?I hope some of this helps you.

Ive been out of the hospital since 3pm...the nurse said all my labs came out negative...so no luck...I believe they have to go further into the big procedures but good thing is I do have an ultra sound for abdomen pain which I felt had a problem with it too a few weeks ago when this got bad but thing is I'm not really concerned about cause it's not what's bothering me...I feel that's it's not anxiety anymore since I feel ill mostly all day...I don't get the panics much anymore unless my heart starts to hurt and than I feel like a heart attack...its hard for me to even get excited about anything anymore...

I do also stay in my room mostly all day...When feeling like this I try to avoid all contact cause sometimes I can't be around people...I can't even socialize sometimes cause it hurts to...I'll feel dizzy, discomfort and slurr for words...my head will hurt and I'll just decide not to talk. Maybe that's anxiety right there...but I can be around people I'm comfortable with but it even hurts still too talking with them...but hopefully something comes up on the ultra sound...after that I'll have to check with a cardiologist...well see what happens...

Hey guys...BB, you must be exhausted, try to get a good night sleep and see how you feel tomorrow. I am sorry that they didn't have more answers for you today.

I know that you need to see this through and satisfy yourself with answers...but keep in mind that acute anxiety can truly make you think that you are dying. You can ask anyone who has been through it and they will tell you they felt exactly as you do.

So keep on until you are satisfied, and if they do find something, then you can get medical help, but if they don't, promise me and yourself that you will agressively start to treat the anxiety! Deal?:)

At Getty...welcome to the A/P. I am glad that you have found us, and thank you for your informative post. I am happy that you have come up with something that has been working for your anxiety/panic management..well done!

Yes I promise I would start treating after all my work ups...but again I have another question for y'all. Do you wake up every morning with chest discomfort...

Have you been checked for GERD? (acid reflux) I can't remember you mentioning it, but it can cause extreme discomfort and pain in the chest area. It has sent many people to the ER thinking that they were having a cardiac episode.

It can be worse at night and in the morning because lying down allows the stomach acid to more easily travel up the esophagus, causing heart burn.

Ok..I think I have looked at almost all these problems on the list lol...idk if they checked for gerd...i need to get my results on what they checked so far cause Idk what they looking for...
