Well maybe this is a little off-topic, but it is too funny not to tell you guys about
...
My husband and youngest daughter and I took a much needed family afternoon adventure hike. My husband and I work hard, our daughter works hard in school, we have had a few stressful events happen lately, so a hike in the hills on a beautiful fall afternoon sounded like just the ticket to a relaxing fun-filled round-out to the weekend!
Everything started out peaceful enough, the birds were flying to and fro, the warm breezes brought us fresh autumn smells of the season, and oh yeah, the tarantulas were frolicking about
WTH?!?
Yes apparently this is tarantula season in our area...I have heard of this, but not actually experienced it first hand. Now I am not phobic about spiders, but neither am I a fan! The big ones are okay, and I actually stopped to snap a few pictures of one. (I will not post in case someone has a trigger for these guys)
But then we started to see mid-sized ones...more like wolf-spiders...which I imagine are wicked fast, and able to launch themselves at will onto unsupecting hikers...aaagggghhh!
You have never seen a more jumpy scaredy-cat ever. I was high-stepping it all the way up and down the trail. It was not a relaxing time to say the least
Just goes to show that even if we make attempts at R&R...life happens! Can anybody say 'Day-Spa' for our next escape?
Hope this gave you a laugh...go ahead, I am...now in the safety of my den!
