Hi everyone! I am new here i posted one other time. My doc bumped my lexapro up to 15mg 3days ago. Just wondering when will it finally kick in?? I am so tired of feeling like this...yesterday i felt pretty darn good then today blah! sad I get this pressure in my temples and sometimes i get achyness in my chest and back or i just feel like i'm all wired up on the inside! Why does anxiety have to suck so bad and when it hits you your never sure what symptom your gonna get! I hate this i just want to feel normal again...i wish i would have never gone off the lexapro the first time!!! Sorry about the venting but it makes me feel a little better to write it down! And thanks for listening!!

Husker, I'm sure, since you've taken Lexapro before, that you know it could take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to feel the full effects of the med. And that's not counting the TOTAL time you've been on it, it only counts from the time you increase your dose.

Almost everyone I know, that's takes an SSRI, has bumps in the road to recovery. We'll have a good couple of days, and then all of the sudden we feel like we're back to square one again. It does pass, but it's a pain in the butt until we get there! Just hang in there, and keep taking your ativan to help you along with the side effects.

huskergirl, Fox is right it does usually take that long. Hang in there things will get better. This too shall pass...I love that quote. Keep posting I think it will make you feel better to just get it off your chest. The members here are very helpful and help when you are down. I will keep you in my prayers

Thanks Fox and Amy! I know i've been down this road before but its still scary to have all this anxiety!! The mornings are the worst for me...i cant wait until i'm able to sleep in and not get woke up from the anxiety!!This is a great web site and i am so thankful for all of you on here it does make me feel better knowing somebody else knows how i feel!!

Hi, I am going through the same thing right now, it's awful. Not even sure if this med will really work for me, never been on them so don't know what to expect. I hope you start feeling better soon. I keep saying the same thing, this too shall pass and I hope it does. Isn't it starnge how the anxiety Seems so much worse in the day. Do you get that "buzzy" feeling like you are trembling inside but others can't seem to see it? Not sure if its the lexapro or my anxiety, ugh. Take care of yourself.

Hi

Good to meet you and welcome. Sorry to here you are having a tough time at the moment anxiety does suck I can relate on that one. Lexapro is the strongest of the ssri's and as all AD can take anywhere between 6-12 weeks before the full therapeutic effects can be felt. I take Lexapro and have found it has worked well for me so stick with it if you can.

AD will only help the symptoms so it is always a good idea to do some therapy such as CBT and this along with medication has good results in enabling you to lead a life were your anxiety is not so intrusive. My anxiety is a result from an other condition so I have to continually manage my anxiety and yes sometimes you go backwards and then forwards so I set myself little goals. We are here to support you so do keep posting take care

Hi Everyone! It's been a few days since my last post and thought I would let you know how things are going. I've been on the new dose of 15mg for 6 days now, the anxiety is getting a little better...mornings are still a pain in the butt! lol I wish i could remember how long it took me before to have the morning symptoms gone too! O well i'll just keep taking my ativan in the mornings til the symptoms are gone! I'm just so happy that you are all here to help and support all of us going thru this!!
