Hello, I'm from Europe and when I came to US I felt the same way. I would say that US is way more difficult to adjust, there is so many rules and regulations. I had my panic attacks 3 times per week. Well, it took time for me to calm down. I'm not sure where you are, but try to get positive experience. This is only temporary, right? Just learn different culture and different foods, enjoy the walks in the city and maybe try to read to social anxiety books. You can order them from Ebay or Amazon and they will ship whenever you are (if there are non in english language in your place). Just be patient a bit, you have typical anxiety .Yeap, I couldn't eat either and lost about 20lbs, then in fear to became anorexic I force my self to take insure-plus, some plain oatmeals. I know how hard it is, been there, but it will all go away. You just got in double anxiety area - studying and new place, so it is definitely more harder for you then others. But the more you think and freak out about, the more your panic occupies you. Make schedule to your self, like everyday I will start 10min to be outside, just walk around the building or something. Then, after a week go outside for 15 minutes. Same with food, small portions, something light, but you have to force to eat, just know this is for your body. And your "state of mind" is just temporary. Anxiety gives a lot of weird feelings, this is just an anxiety, your mind and brain are all OK. Read something on internet, read more about social anxiety and some relaxation techniques. I know it is very difficult, but you have to take control, for now your anxiety controls you. Hope you feel better soon!
