No, the ink doesn't go into your bloodstream. It's actually only penetrating the first few layers of your skin, even though it does cause slight bleeding. I got my first tat when I was 8 months pregnant with my son believe it or not! That was back in 1987. Now they're saying that you shouldn't get tattoo'd when your pregnant. Well my son was born perfectly fine, and is a healthy 24 year old, going to be 25 in August! LOL @ how crazy that was!
My advice to you, is to go ahead and get your tattoo, just take a xanax or something before you get it, that way your anxiety level will not get too crazy on you, as it will be your first, and understandably nervous. Not long ago, when I got my 9th tattoo, I made the mistake of not taking a xanax, and had a small anxiety attack while he was doing it, and this one was on the back of my neck. BOY, did I hide that one well! I just kept closing my eyes and thinking of pleasant thoughts. LOL!
And another thing.....ALWAYS make sure that everything they use, to do your tattoo, is sterile! I CANNOT stress this enough. Make sure they
open the packaging that the needle and everything comes in right in front of you, and make sure the little cups that they put the ink into are new. DO NOT let them use a cup that has already had ink in it.
Anyway, here's a link you can go to to read the same question, and it gives the answer you are seeking....Hope it helps ease your mind a bit.
