So today I saw my therapist for the first time. It definetly felt good to have someone hear me out, even if they are getting paid to do it. It was nice to have reassurance that I'm not crazy! :) However, i still didn't feel that I could convey to her the extreme my anxiety was at in January. I just now decided to go because just now am I at the point that I can actually talk about my condition without throwing me into a panic attack. She seemed to think all this came from stressors I was going through in January. I just don't understand how 3 months later I can still be suffering anxiety from things that took place months ago? Anyway, it was a relief. She recommended keeping a journal and I am going to see her every other week to track my progress. She isn't a speacialist in CBT which I was bummed about and is actually only a clinical social worker :( I might attempt to find a specialist sometime soon. Anyway, hope this is another hurddle I have overcome through this battle with anxiety. Keeping positive!
