Started Prozac

Feeling much better today. Woke up not needing the Xanax to go with the Prozac. Feeling rested. Ready for more baby duty.

Something that has helped with the anxiety is to remain active, not to the point of mania or excess of any type, just mild activity, cleaning doing activity, walks, that type of thing. Also not paying as much attention to world events and dramas.

Saw a shirt the other day that I liked that said, "I used to care, but now I take a pill for that". I want one.

Another very good day, no need for the benzo again. Feeling very "in the middle". Prozac appears to have "sunk in". Very gradual process compared to the lexapro. Lexapro had a quicker response but more drastic panic attacks and racing heart, some of that with prozac but to a muted degree.

Hopefully this is the plateau maintenance phase that I am used to from an SSRI, usually I will go for months like this and then think I don't need it any more, taper off and deal with horrible withdrawal (Lexapro) and then have a relapse of some sort within the next year and repeat the whole thing.

I'd like to think that I don't have to take an SSRI "for life". But for now I plan to continue the prozac for a good year and then evaluate.

Just filled prescription to start month #3, so two 30 day 20 MG prescriptions into this and no apparent need anymore for Xanax. Not feeling super good, just normal. That I will take any day. Will continue to update.

Posting this so I can track my own history as well as hopefully help someone else experiencing the same issues. It took a good 8 weeks for my system to settle down, go through being dead tired, anxious, and with nausea sometimes, but those side effects appear to have subsided.
