Hiya girls&guys,
i wanted to share how i got over Anxiety Disorder totally drugfree.
Lets start with the basics of a panic attack, what are they? From the lightheadedness, chest pain, heart rate accelleration, sweating, shaking and everything else, its JUST your body temporarily revin up. What you need to remember is THIS CANT HURT YOU, your body wont allow it, and the feelings are the normal way in which your body reacts to stress.
When you feel a PANIC attack coming on what do you do? PANIC, thus making symptoms worse.
Heres what we do. STOP BREATHE LOOK & LISTEN
STOP for a moment, breathe in through your nose out through ur mouth, let ur shoulders relax and breathe. LOOK around you, wheres the threat? LISTEN to your body. If you calm and breathe it WILL pass. I promise. Now im not sating it will be easy the first few attempts left me a sobbing mess but eventually i learnt to tolerate the feelings after remindin myself they are uncomfy but wont hurt me.
Also, when u have an attack. Write it down what happened how it felt and how it ended. Re-reading that actually no terrible disaster happened will embef into ur mind that ur safe.
Good Luck, health & happiness to u all. Xx
ps (i was controlled by anxiety for years, now i walk about
freely and smile as i do so, ur first controlled attack will give u such a high ull feel u can take on tje world)

Hi Scardey Cat & thankyou :) i drveloped anxiety disorder as a result of PTSD its no fun at all. I used to be so scared to even leave the house and used to pray id be 'normal' again. I do now still have the odd panic attack now and again but ive learnt to tolerate the feelings, before it was OMG panic attack im gonna faint!! Now its oh panic attack, anyway whats for tea lol. Learning to tolerate and deal with the feelings helps in a big way. Its about
thinking urself better. U think therefore you can

I agree with the OP. If one has both panic attacks and depression, it may be that there is a chemical imbalance in the noggin that might need meds, but the panic attack itself is an extreme fear that tends to paralyze, and it feeds on your escalating emotion. Being a survivor myself, I cannot say for sure whether one can be "cured" of it, but it can darn sure be managed so one can live a normal life.
Winston Churchill said once that "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself". Thats a perfect fit for what a panic attack is though it is certainly taken out of context here. Have one panic attack and from that point on, its fear of having another one which brings another attack on. I am a testimony also that this can be overcome. It is a real fight to actually get a handle on what is happening to your perceptions and your symptoms.
Watching tv shows of people who suffer from this, one can see that when the sufferer gathers the courage, the first little victories are attainable, which is actually huge considering the intensity of fear one must face. Its scary and its hard, very hard, but consider what happens when you dont fight it. From experience, I can also testify that though experiencing this debilitating condition, once you gain mastery over it, you have just gained a ton of character which actually will make you stronger emotionally, and more tender to others who have not yet broken through to success.
For those who look to a Spiritual aspect, I leave 2 verses that is out of the KJ Bible that really speaks to the situation.
1 Corinthians 14;33
Philipians 4:8

Well done you Greetingz for getting better! I agree with everythin u said and the winston churchill quote is a perfect fit! Anxiety&Panic are deblitating but learning to manage it, for me, was easier than i thought, thats wrong actually its not as hard as i thought.
