I realized today that I need to laugh more. I love to laugh, but sometimes responsibility, distraction, multi-tasking...and yes anxiety get in the way.
I noticed that my husband laughs at a rate of about twice the things that I do. Yes, it could be that he is easily amused;p...but it is more than that. He just genuinely knows how to be in the moment and enjoy it.
While my mind is going in a million different directions, problem solving, planning or stressing...he is laughing, which is great. It reminds me to re-focus and get in on the giggles too.
I don't really find t.v. or even movies to make me laugh as much as watching/listenting to comedians. I have really gotten into listening to the comedy channels on Serius radio. You can also youtube a lot of great bits. Some of my favorites are Brian Regan, Jim Gaffiigan, Greg Behrendt and Jim Brewer.
It is also helping my perspective. I had a student who came to class, obviously having escaped the T.B. ward, and ditching her iron lung...she coughed constantly through the first third of class, red-faced, until I gently excused her to go see her mother. She replied that she couldn't because 'mommy is home sick'. (a family friend dropped her off to class)
I just had to laugh! What else can I do? I am pretty germ phobic, but oh well...it was pretty funny if you think about it.:)
I hope that everybody finds something funny to laugh at today and everyday. It feels great! I have to go now, I think I feel a fever coming on...Jk!;p
