Hi John and welcome.
I am sorry to hear of your recent attacks, and I hope that you are starting to feel better today.
Having trouble with anxiety in the mornings is not unusual, and the reason is that cortisol, a stress hormone, is at its highest concentration in the body at this time. Cortisol is responsible for getting us up and motivated....which is good of course, but those with anxiety either make too much, or develop a sensitivity to it...creating anxiety.
Have you tried any coping mechanisms such as breathing and relaxation exercises to help when you are having breakthrough panic? These can be extrememly effective in managing anxiety. We have links that teach some in our Resource Guide (main page 1st post) along with other self-help ideas.
Also have you been to or considered therapy? Many of us here have been helped tremendously by it. It may be something that you want to discuss with your doctor about for a referral.
Keep positing here with us as well. We are gald that you have jonied us, and are here for your support.:)
Let us know how you are doing soon,
Scaredy Cat
