I was about to fill my Buspar prescription to start month number three and I don't think I am going to. I was recently sick with a nasty head cold and ear infection that dragged for a few weeks and am just starting to feel a little better. However the issue is that my energy level isn't coming back to normal and come to think of it since starting Buspar I have been sluggish with lower energy.
I made the commitment recently to eating better, taking vitamins making sure I'm hydrated all those sorts of things to no avail. I don't thing the Buspar was really all that helpful, my panic hasn't been around really at all but I'm told it does not have much influence over that anyway.
I'm a bit stuck as the SSRIs all cause bad side effects from the sexual to the racing heartbeats and really making anxiety worse by feeling edgy and jumpy for about two months until they kick in. Then they have been hellish to get off.
I DO NOT want to take benzos all the time, but just occasionally and my dose is so low (.25). My MD believes in a very low dose perhaps to make a point that the meds are not that helpful anyway.
Treatment options are therefore getting narrow, even MJ makes me anxious!! I gave up the mild drinking that I was engaged in (maybe a couple a beers a couple times a week). My diet is back to vegetarian, I do think the meat contains so much garbage and hormones that this will help also. Remember what chicken breasts looked like 20 years ago?? Not like they do now for certain. Hormones.
So any ideas I am game. I even tried the relaxing teas, the green tea (yes I know the caffeine, I've cut all that out too as much as possible). I also exercise doing cardio stuff.
Maybe the best thing is no meds and continue all the above for awhile, and maybe cut out the sweets. Will try that for a month and let you all know how it's going weekly. I think I am done with the idea that meds are effective for me.
