I apologize if you have read this before...I post about it a lot, as this topic comes up often. Finding out this information helped me so much, that I always want to pass it on!
There is a physical reason why anxiety is higher in the morning. Our bodies produce a stress hormone called Cortisol. This is a good thing in small doses, since it is motivating...in other words without it, we would never get out of bed! Therefore, Cortisol it at its highest level in the body in the mornings.
The downside comes when one either makes too much of it, or has a sensitivity to it...both of which can come with anxiety. The result is mega anxiety and possibly panic.
Just knowing that there was a real reason for this 'a.m. freak out' that I was experiencing helped me to not fear or dread it...and it started to fade.
Every once in a while I will still have a bad morning, but if I put my coping mechanisms to work and remind myself that this is not unusual, then I am soon feeling better.:)
I hope that this at least helps shed some light on your situation.
