As a 21 year old college student, many of the activities prior to my panic attacks resurfacing had been typical young adult activities, but also ones that I've noticed can really stress me out, even though I enjoy them.
Video games (First person shooters, in particular)
Football
Schoolwork
playing guitar/bass
are all, among other things, what take up much of my daily routines, but all of these things can be quite stressful. Playing war-related video games online with other players can obviously have a lot of stressful stimuli, playing football both on the field and on the game console can also be stressful, and I really enjoy these things, but feeling the need to perform at a high level in front of others is something I put on myself, I can't help it. I'm no perfectionist by any stretch of the imagination, but I want to at least avoid failing miserably in front of others.
Same with playing guitar, it's relaxing to sit down and get lost in music but I get nervous when other people are around to hear it, I feel that I want to be able to perform well in front of others and don't want people to hear it unless I'm playing any given song up to my standards. School work is pretty self-evident in it's stressing capacity.
Soo that leads me to this post.
What relaxing activities do you enjoy?
Everyone enjoys different things and I thought it'd be cool to hear from you about
what you like to do, and also maybe what kind of activities may help you unwind and take your mind off of your symptoms.
I've seen meditation on here, and am incorporating it into my routine as time permits, but I'd like to hear more from you individually about
what you enjoy doing
