Scared!!!

I can't remember if you have mentioned having palpitations before or not.

If so, then how was this different? Stronger/more intense?  The addition of the other symptoms?

If not, then this is what you most likely experienced...and it can be truly scary, though most times benign.

It is good that your ekg and other tests came back normal, and I am pretty sure that your others will as well.

If yo are still concerned, and especially if this is a new symptom, you can request a 24 hr holter monitor test to see what your heart is up to over an extended time, and maybe catch one of those palps.

This can reassure you that what you experienced was most likely a normal anxiety thing.:)

So an update on my situation:

I followed up with my PCP on Tuesday and she listened to my heart and all that and said everything sounded fine, she thinks PVC's are what is causing my "sudden loss of breathe" symptoms that I am experiencing. I also am scheduled to see a cardiologist tomorrow afternoon and get an event monitor to wear. Anyone have any advise as to what to expect? I'm glad that it is going to be checked out I must say... but PVC's? Are those the same as palpitations?

I experienced my first such attack much older than you ladies, thought my heart had stopped, scared me nearly to death, it was like it just stopped then my heart started a rapid beat, probably adrenalin from being scared, I had my wife take me to ER, and had everything done including blood gasses, as I said I was older than you and had an abnormal EKG so there was some real reason for fear. It was my first real anxiety attack and I was 48 years old. Truthfully I think if one had a bad heart a grand mall anxiety attack would kill them. I take meds for the Palp's and I have observed one thing in my attacks it seems like my palpitations are worse when my blood sugar is high, just and observation about me maybe not everyone. I think its good that you ladies have been to Dr's and received reassurance, remember you both have been through Childbirth and if anything much was wrong you would have found out then. I am 70 now and my too simple advice is live a good responsible life for your family and I am quoting a very famous person, "Fear Not"! You are not alone everyone here is with you. Love Larry

Thanks for the replys! I currently have the event monitor on and I feel a little silly being so young and having it. I was the youngest person in the waiting room at they cardiologist office.:)
