Well- I love your attitude. Though I know better-I was told I will have agoraphobia and panic etc for the rest of my life. I do not believe that, nor do I believe its all in our heads.
I am new too-and so far I feel I couldnt have reached out to a greater forum. Welcome to you!

Sounds like you need a new psychiatrist if thats what they are saying. Some of the time, it can be in your head if its triggered by events (close, crowded spaces, riding on planes), but even then, it can be that you are just wired tight and you have a low threshold for physical, emotional stresses.

Could I use another name to address you? lol
From time to time we all feel it's never going to end, but it will, I lived with some anxiety most of my life,
then as I got older I noticed a decline in the intensity, trouble is we are all just enough different to have
little idiosyncrasies that don't fit the mold. I think you said your with child, if thats so your hormones are
probably doing a number on you also. Ask your doctor, there are meds that do not cross the placenta
and are safe to use.

For some, a stressful event may cause anxiety for a short period (<1yr). For most, I am afraid, your body/mind will have a tendency for anxiety for life. Through one or a combination of diet, exercise, meds, coping skills, stress reduction, relaxation techniques, many can go months or years between bouts. I got to a point with my antidepressants (Paxil and Effexor) that I could go a whole year and have anxiety maybe 1-2 weeks total over an eight year period. Usually those were from getting sick or having lots of stress. Right now, after those quit on me, I am trying to find another antidepressant that works out. I know it's hereditary in my fathers side up to my great grandfather in my case. I love your Bible verse, tho it's hard to feel it sometimes in the stinkfest of anxiety. God bless!

Thanks. My whole life has been stressful since childhood so maybe i will have a tendency. Its no hereditary for me. I guess just long term stress and depression is the colpret. Hopefully things will get better after this pregnancy.

Part of having victory over anxiety is chaning old thinking patterns...
...so instead of looking at it this way "I may have anxiety for the rest of my life."
Turn the thought around to "I am learning ways to cope with and manage the anxiety."
Finding the positives and captilizing on them is key to recovery!:)
