Hey I take Klonopin, trying to get off of it. When I skip a dose..I feel like I can't breathe. Also, I have a cough..and runny nose..anyone else taking this drug have these side effects?

Lisa there are some of the Ladies here who do and they will be getting in touch with you, the weekends are
slow on here it may be monday before you hear from them. Trust me they will be coming on like the US
Cavalry.

Hi Lisa and welcome!

Getting off of a benzodiazapine med can have its challenges. Are you under a doctor's care with your weaning schedule? Stopping too abruptly can cause any number of side effects.

You may want to check out this site. It has a lot of good information to use along with your doctor's advice.

Water titration is a good method to try for the smoothest cessation of a medication such as Klonopin...ask your doctor if he recommends it, and can give you directions.  (or as long as you get your doc's okay to try this method...I will post a link with video instructions at your request)

Thanks. I really want to know if others have had side effects..from just taking it not just weaning off of it.
I think I will post another post. Thanks for your help...I have to say I really got great benefit from this drug but trying to get off of it is not fun....
